The John McKenna Traditional Music Society is based in Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim. The Society was originally founded in 1978 by members of the local community. The Society was established to honour the memory of North Leitrim Flautist John McKenna 1880-1947 who hailed from the Drumkeeran area.
The John McKenna Traditional Music Society is committed to the ongoing development of Traditional Music in the area. The John McKenna Traditional Music Society organises and promotes various Traditional Music activities such as music classes, an annual traditional festival and year round music sessions.
