MUSIC COMPOSITION WORKSHOP

• A unique opportunity for young musicians to participate in a music composition and recording workshop led by David Sheridan, Pádraig McGovern and Catherine McEvoy. The workshop is open to both primary and secondary school students but students should be comfortable playing jigs and reels (or be able to play along with same if they play an accompaniment instrument).
• Workshop limited to 20 Places. All compositions will be recorded professionally during the workshop.

This unique and special event to mark the 25th anniversary of the festival will
include the premiere of three newly commissioned pieces of music dedicated to the
memory of John McKenna composed by Fiachra Guihan, Lorraine Sweeney and Dave Sheridan.
These commissions are made possible through the support of the Department of
Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media and Leitrim County Council under the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme 2022.
